slotting and broaching

Slotting and gear cutting are carried out by means of machine tools consisting of linear motion systems, and both through-holes and blind holes are possible.

We can carry out the following slotting operations:

  • Various types of internal/external gear cutting
  • Chamfering, e.g. DIN5482 DIN5480
  • Slots for keyways and tongues

Broaching is similar to slotting. It is a process in which a cutting tool (known as broach) passes over or through a part piece to produce a desired form. A broach removes part material with a series of teeth having progressively growing diameters and size.

Broaching may replace slotting in the case of internal gears, particularly in the case of serial machining and through-holes.
